What Soccer Without Border Catalyzes with YOU!

Jennifer Tepper / Playing For Change

Soccer Without Borders leads trauma-informed soccer programs and coach trainings that directly address mental health, anti-racism, and gender equity. By using exercise, activities, and team building strategies, newcomer and marginalized individuals can find belonging, cope with hardship, and promote emotional wellness.

You love soccer.
You love kids.

You love the idea of Jennifer leading an organization that uses the world’s love for soccer to:

a) bring the most marginalized youth together to realize their potential as individuals;

b) experience humanity’s potential to realize peace through diversity; and

c) create belonging for players, coaches, fans, and everyone who loves seeing people smiling and laughing while they are playing!

Our youth and communities are dealing with gun violence, hate, bigotry, isolation, cyber-bullying, and fake news - our divisions seem more pervasive than that which unites us. In this world, Soccer Without Borders is a beacon shining a light on solutions - showing us how we can do better, together.

Over the next two years, we will be leading a campaign to raise $5M to help us build our capacity to scale our impact to more kids and families around the world.  I'm asking you to launch this campaign by being part of the first 1% and bring our campaign to life.

And of course, if Brendan Hunt (Coach Beard from Ted Lasso) can do it by going on Celebrity Jeopardy, we can do it too!

About What Soccer Without Border Catalyzes with YOU!

ALL of YOU know how soccer (or sports in general) influenced your life, how being on a team helped your trajectory, how being part of sport enhanced your child(ren)'s confidence and self-esteem by focusing their time on enhancing extra-curriculars instead of falling into boredom and poor choices.

I was that kid, new to the United States and looking for a place to belong, figuring out my own identity while also knowing all of the "features" that made me stand out in ways that made me insecure and self-conscious.

Through soccer, my amazing coaches, and my teammates who became friends, I learned how to stand out in ways that helped me find my way and I gained confidence in my identity and how I could contribute. Read about my journey here: A Place to Call Home: Get to Know SWB's New Executive Director.

I get to work with some of the most amazing people to bring equity, joy, productivity, confidence and so much more through sport and each and every single one of you has a role to play in this. You can be part of ANY and ALL of this:

*Give here and now.

*Volunteer with us (individually or as a family activity) and see for yourselves.

*Cheer us on as we scale this work so every child and coach who can benefit has access to our programs and trainings.

*Sponsor us through your employer or your company to spread the word and bridge corporate social responsibility with your passions

*Connect us with amazing people in your network who would want to partner with us

*Partner with us to figure out how to scale our work across the sector - with more youth - with more coaches

*Share great ideas you have that you would like to explore with us

Thank you, for coming along for the ride and I hope you many of you guys will visit us on the pitch so I can not only spend time with you all but you can see the power of what we can all do, together.

With gratitude and love,
Jennifer
